Objective:
To explain from Scripture that true believers who keep the commandments of YAH and the testimony of Yahshua the Messiah are priests under the eternal Melchizedek order, and how this priesthood includes both the righteous principle of tithing and the shared community life of having all things in common.
1. YAH Does Not Change (Malachi 3:6)
“For I am YAH, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
YAH’s order and righteousness are eternal. His priesthood — first revealed through Melchizedek, affirmed in the Psalms, and fulfilled in Yahshua — was never abolished, only restored in power and truth.
2. Who Is Melchizedek? (Genesis 14:18; Hebrews 7:1–3)
“And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high Elohim.”
Melchizedek is both king and priest — without recorded genealogy, and made like unto the Son of Elohim. This foreshadows a priesthood not based on fleshly descent, but on eternal righteousness.
Hebrews 7 confirms that Melchizedek’s order is superior to Levi’s, and Yahshua now serves in this eternal priesthood, ministering spiritually from heaven.
3. Yahshua – High Priest After the Order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 6:20; 7:11–12)
“Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.”
Yahshua became the High Priest of this order — not through Levitical bloodline, but by resurrection power. This priesthood required a change in the law, not to remove it, but to bring its spiritual fullness through Messiah.
4. True Believers Are Priests in This Order (1 Peter 2:5, 9; Revelation 1:6; 5:10)
“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood…”
All who obey Yahshua and keep His commandments are called kings and priests under Him. This is not symbolic. It’s a real spiritual function — teaching, sacrificing self, offering praise, and keeping YAH’s truth.
Revelation 14:12 — “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Elohim, and the faith of Jesus.”
5. The Purpose of Tithing Under Melchizedek
Genesis 14:20 — “And he gave him tithes of all.”
Tithing began before the Levitical law. Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek — the first recorded priest of YAH. Hebrews 7:8 says tithes are still received — not by Levi, but by Yahshua, who lives forever.
This proves tithing remains a righteous and eternal principle.
1 Corinthians 9:13–14 — “Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.”
Tithes are for:
- Supporting the priesthood (those who labor in the Word)
- Covering household needs (a righteous priest may have a family)
- Funding ministry work (teaching, feeding, building up the body)
Tithing is not to make one man rich — it’s to keep the whole spiritual house of YAH supplied.
6. Having All Things in Common: The Fruit of Righteous Giving (Acts 4:32–35)
“And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul…”
When the early believers were filled with the Spirit and walked in the priesthood of Yahshua:
- They shared all things
- There was no lack among them
- The apostles distributed resources based on need, not status
This was not socialism or charity — this was kingdom structure rooted in righteousness, obedience, and community responsibility.
Tithing and sharing are not opposites — they are covenant twins:
- Tithing honors YAH and supports His structure
- Sharing ensures no member of the body suffers lack
7. Balance: The Priest’s Family and the Body
The priest is still human — he eats, he sleeps, he raises children. The law acknowledges this:
Deuteronomy 25:4 — “Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.”
This precept teaches that those who labor — including priests — have a right to partake of the resources they help bring in. A priest must provide for his house and the house of YAH. The body must support the priest so he can do both.
The Levites were fed from the tithe (Numbers 18). Likewise, the Melchizedek priest — righteous, obedient, and active — should be supported not by manipulation, but by joy.
Galatians 6:6 — “Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.”
8. Final Call to Action
If you are a believer:
- Keep YAH’s commandments
- Hold the testimony of Yahshua
- Walk as a priest: humble, holy, teaching truth
- Give to the work of righteousness
- Share your goods to eliminate need in the body
This is the Melchizedek structure —
- No priest starves
- No child lacks
- No widow is forgotten
- No elder is overburdened
Conclusion
Yahshua is our High Priest. We are His body — kings and priests under Him. Tithing and sharing are part of our kingdom function — to honor YAH, supply His house, and serve one another in love and obedience.
We are not called to mimic the world. We are called to establish the order of heaven on earth.
Let every believer take their place in this righteous priesthood.
Shabbat Shalom. Walk worthy of your calling.
